Aims:
Foster pride and community spirit in Ashhurst by promoting the enhancement of the built and natural environment
Communicate the views of the community to representatives of local government
Develop facilities and the environment for the benefit of residents and visitors
Work to provide a stimulating environment for young people growing up in Ashhurst
Ashhurst Domain Wetland
Members of the Ashhurst Action group and other volunteers led by Bill Phillips and Ken Pratt are keen to protect and enhance the wetland, both the swamp and ox-bow, at the Ashhurst Domain.
SH3 tree planting and green corridor established between Cambridge Ave and Mobil Station. Completed planting – August, 2002.Survey of Ashhurst residents on local development preferences and production of comprehensive report for PNCC based on the survey results. Available in PDF form. Completed – November, 2001.
Working bees, garden work and landscaping of King Reserves, Cambridge Ave, Ashhurst. Included laying of concrete foundation for picnic tables now installed. Work ongoing.
