Beshara is about our essential connection to the Real,
such as we have never been separated and that there is nothing whatsoever in between,
or could possibly get in between this essential connection.

We are connected in Being and we are connected
in our Consciousness.

Peter Young, Principal. An extract from his opening address at the annual Gathering, August 2008 at Chisholme House, home of The Beshara School at the Chisholme Institute in the Scottish Borders.

Courses of the Beshara School are concerned solely with the knowledge of the essential unity of all existence, by way of knowing one’s own reality. This knowledge lies at the heart of all spiritual traditions and approaches to truth, and yet is not confined to any of them; consequently the Beshara School is open to students of any nationality or background, irrespective of creed.Courses are all-inclusive and fully residential, and comprise a balanced programme of study, work, meditation and spiritual practice. They range from a weekend to six months.Six-month courses, which have been running since 1975, begin on 1st October each year. Shorter courses run throughout the year, and visitors are welcome at any time.Chisholme House, the home of the school, is a Georgian country house and estate set in the vibrant beauty of the Scottish Borders.

This pavilion is a home-made, self

standing structure built for occasional

meetings, celebrations and gatherings at the Beshara School. It is being erected now in preparation for Symposium 2009, 9th-11th September.

Symposium director Aaron Cass introduces Symposium 2009, to be held at the Beshara School in the Scottish Borders in September. Filmed by Jonathan Spottiswoode.

Andrew Thorne talks about his experience of his 9-day course at the Beshara School in Scotland, June 2009.

"The most important thing has been coming to really feel and know that Love is everything...  ...that I'm part of something which makes me feel less isolated and less stuck with myself... ... I think it's easy to fall into patterns of feeling like "I'm alone", or "there are forces working against me", but it's kind of "me", like my own ego perception of the world... I need to kind of allow that to subside and realize that things are good... the way they should be..."

Becky Telford talks about her experience of her 9-day course at the Beshara School in Scotland, June 2009.

"I think that one of the things that I feel most blessed with and that I wasn't expecting from the course, is that incredible sense of liberation and a real sense of freedom..."

Theophany of Perfection

A short film by Zsuzsanna Nyul with music by the Vastearthorchestra. Words by Ibn Arabi a 12th Century Arab mystic. Composer and violins: Chris Brierly, Vocals: Aaron Cass. Piano: Tim Roberts. Bass: David Norland,

The Symposium seemed to raise a Bubbling Energy, a wave of hope and goodwill.  Thank you all for allowing me to participate, to be open to the heart and to be honest.  I really enjoyed those three days at Chisholm.  May great things come from these new beginnings and many Symposiums happen in the future as Beshara emerges more into the Light world-wide.

The spiritual life is the real life-all else is illusion and deception. Only those who are attached to god alone are truly free. Only those who live up to the highest light they have find their lives in harmony. Those who act on their highest motivations become a power for good. It is not important that others be sought or desired. Know that every right thing you do-every good word you say-every positive thought you think-has good effect. For me its real and wiserearth meaning.
