Mission

Nonviolence United is a project of Nonviolence, Inc., a not-for-profit, non-governmental organization. We welcome individuals and organizations from all over the world. We are not located in one place. Our members and our collaborators are everywhere. We are you! We’re uniting the caring people of the world through Nonviolence. The Future Is In Your Hands. We want the world to become a just home for all -- no more wars, no more hunger, no more suffering of one for the greed of another. It can be done. And there is a remarkable way to make it happen… A way that builds rather than tears down. A way that fills you with hope. A way to live your moral values rather than selling your soul. A way in which everyone is loved and no one is hated. A way that cannot be stopped and can never be destroyed. Nonviolence. Nonviolence has the power to change your life and the world for the better. That power is in you just waiting to be set free.

What Is Nonviolence?

Nonviolence can be a way of life. And Nonviolence can be a strategy. But for powerful, long-lasting change, Nonviolence as a way of life is the strategy. Nonviolence is an active and powerful way to build a better world. It involves this fundamental understanding: We and everything are connected. Nonviolence means living your life sincerely supporting those connections.

Nonviolence As A Way Of Life

Everything you do has an impact on other people, on the planet and on the animals with whom you share the world. Living Nonviolence as a way of life means making the connections -- making the right choices so that your impact is in line with your moral values. Nearly all the problems in the world today stem from the fact that people have forgotten who they really are. Nonviolence offers direction so you can remember who you are and act in a reconnected way. It’s a win-win way of living -- you’ll build a better life for you and a better world for everyone. Being aware and aligned with your values makes you conscious, complete and more powerful. And when millions of conscious, empowered people join together through Nonviolence, it will create a movement the likes of which the world has never seen.

Nonviolence As A Strategy

Nonviolence works toward long-lasting, uplifting change where everyone is involved in building a better society. Nonviolence values the life and liberty of all. Nonviolence is available to everyone. You don’t need big muscles or guns or money to use Nonviolence. Nonviolence brings power back to the people… where it belongs. Nonviolence honors truth. There is no need for secrets or lies. Our purposes are clear, our motives are clear, and our methods are clear and announced. Nonviolence connects you to everyone -- you are never alone. Nonviolence cannot be marginalized. And if it is co-opted by the opponent, everyone still wins.

Why Nonviolence As A Way Of Life IS The Strategy

Traditional Nonviolence tactics have been studied and marginalized by those who control by force, disconnection and violence. Our marches and speeches are ignored by the corporate-owned media. Our letters are ignored and our emails are deleted. We are even forced into “free speech zones” where we can be more easily ignored and controlled. But Nonviolence isn’t just holding up signs in protest on weekends and then going back to life as usual. In order for Nonviolence to work, it must have strategy, planning and a real effect that will bring about change in the opponent or replace the unjust system entirely. Nonviolence United advocates a form of Nonviolence that is built on strategy and has a direct effect regardless of the opponent’s conscience or their willingness to change -- Nonviolence as a way of life. We can build a world reflective of our values only when we consume consciously and live our lives consistently with our values. It’s that simple.

Dear Sir/Me
We write to introduce to you the Martin Luther King Jr. memorial Foundation (LUKMEF. we would love to introduce to you are new initiative; the African Peace and Democratic Institute (APDI) concept and search for collaborations, affiliations and contributions from like minded Foundations, institutions and individuals worldwide towards the implementation of the project in Cameroon that will stimulate development and economic growth within the continent by providing the much need foundation of Peace and stability through professional Training and technical support to Non governmental organisations, local governments and individuals in Africa.
LUKMEF is a not for profit organisation working in Cameroon(Africa) since 1999 promoting Peace, nonviolence, social Justice and sustaianble development.

Why the African Peace and Democratic Institute?
The African Peace and Democratic Institute project is coming as a result of several years of working experience and observations made as concerns poverty alleviation struggle in Africa. The project was originally conceived as a Development Resource Centre supporting development in Cameroon since 2002. It has since grown in the number of programs it offers. The number of persons seeking our programs, the number of volunteers working for the project and the realistic impact of the program to our local development drive has created the need for an expansion and restructuring to support a bigger number of Africans seeking to under training in Peace building, conflict management and development studies. Limited by space and funds, we started a campaign in 2004 to expand the program to an African Peace and Democratic Institute (APDI) to support Peace, Democracy and Development effort across the continent by providing skill training, networking, thereby promoting an acceptable and conducive environment for the work of national and international development partners to have lasting and sustainable impact in the continent.
Dear sir/Me, we will be pleased if you will find ways we can collaborate with your good organizations towards the realization of this project. Hope to read from you again

sincerely
