Introduction
The Air & Waste Management Association (A&WMA)'s Core Purpose is to improve environmental knowledge and decisions by providing a neutral forum for exchanging information.The Air & Waste Management Association (A&WMA) is currently divided into 32 regional sections, 68 local chapters, and 50 student chapters worldwide.
About us
The Air & Waste Management Association (A&WMA) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan professional organization that provides training, information, and networking opportunities to more than 9000 environmental professionals in 65 countries. The Association’s goals are to strengthen the environmental profession, expand scientific and technological responses to environmental concerns, and assist professionals in critical environmental decision making to benefit society.Founded in 1907 by Canadian and American smoke inspectors, the association attracts decision makers from government agencies, scientists, engineers, industry, attorneys, consultants, and the academic and research communities who exchange technical and managerial information about air pollution control and waste management. The association serves these members and the public by promoting environmental responsibility and providing technical and managerial leadership in the fields of air and waste management.
Asian Institute of Technology Student Chapter Details
Asian Institute of Technology Student Chapter is under West Coast Section of The Air & Waste Management Association (A&WMA). The Chapter enable Association members to meet more frequently and to discuss common problems and solutions with colleagues operating "right in their own backyard." Specific functions of sections and chapters are:* Planning, organizing, and presenting activities that focus on regional or local issues.
* Holding breakfast, luncheon, and dinner meetings, technical seminars, conferences, workshops, and social outings.
* Publishing newsletters.
* Administering student chapters.
* Providing funds for scholarships.
* Hosting and sponsoring the Association's Specialty Conferences, Workshops, and Environmental Resource Guide Workshops.
* Hosting the Association's Annual Conference & Exhibition.
* Promoting a better understanding of the problems of air pollution control and waste management and related environmental concerns among local members, and working toward resolution of these problems.
* Promoting closer professional and personal relations among their members. Furthering the mission and objectives of the Association.
Purpose of the AIT Student Chapter
* To exchange experiences and quality information on different air and waste management technologies, designing integrated waste management strategies, designing and implementing environmental management systems etc.* To provide skill-building technical guidance and practical solutions to meet today's environmental challenges.
* To provide networking opportunities with the environmental professionals in the region and globe as well.
