YDPN Workforce Development Efforts

 WE NEED YOU!!!!  The YDPN is excited to announce three events focused on youth workers (anyone who works with or on behalf of youth) and their role in the youth development workforce.  One goal of the YDPN this year is to help collectively builda worker-centered agenda.  YDPN has identified Four Points of Connection to build a Workforce Agenda.  They are:

People connections - connecting and empowering YOUth workers to create change by giving YOUth workers opportunities and access to resources that will foster and create sustainable spaces for young people to grow and learn;

Financial connections - connecting and empowering YOUth workers to financial institutions and resources, so YOUth workers can gain financial independence through access to programs that build financial literacy and awareness, affordable housing, and health care - to name a few;

Intrapersonal connections - connecting and empowering YOUth worker to themselves through creating intentional spaces that promote reflection, rejuvenation, self-care, and advocacy skill development;

Professional connections - connecting and empowering YOUth workers to develop themselves professionally and collectively by giving YOUth workers access to relevant educational and professional development opportunities, job opportunities, and convening youth workers and decision makers to identify possible career pathways.

To build this youth worker-centered workforce agenda, the YDPN is sponsoring two events (one in November and one in December) for YOUth workers and partnering with CNYD on a regional convening of youth workers, employers, and decision makers.  Please see below for event specifics.
