About [Edit]
Welcome to the Emmaus Community of Pittsburgh web site. We hope you will find your visit here to be both informative and helpful.
At Emmaus, we serve persons with developmental disabilities and mental retardation by offering a wide range of programs and services including quality residential housing. As a result of these efforts, ten special people currently live in our midst – and enjoy satisfying, active and full lives.
Another important aspect of our mission is to effectively educate the public about the unique needs and issues of people with mental retardation/developmental disabilities and advocate for a heightened response to those needs.
Strengthened by spirituality and prayerful direction, the Emmaus Community endeavors to understand its role in the kingdom. In living and working together, all of us help one another to grow and become whole. At the heart of our mission to serve is love.
