Here is a society of men and women that have a beautiful relationship as a warrior culture. I offer this introduction as a way to begin a dialog in a "peace through unity" celebration on June 25th 2008 at Little Big Horn National Monument.

Maka Si Tomni is a group of common Lakota People and a new member on WiserEarth (WE). WE are interested in learning how to network on WiserEarth with your organization in effective action to our mutual concerns and benefit. Maka Si Tomni’s mission is to “Bring Forth a Thriving Lakota Language & Culture.”

Our first local/global event is the "Little Big Horn Victory Celebration" National Little Big Horn Monument, MT USA, June 25 2008. WE are going to Little Big Horn National Monument with 500 1st nation riders on horses, elders, runners, walkers, singers, dancers and creating a history-making event. This is the largest spiritual gathering of Lakota descendants and 1st nations people in 132 years at the Greasy Grass Battlefield. WE have all the time in the world and not a moment to waste! WE have 115 days and counting!

The historic battle between the U.S. 7th Calvary and the Lakota/Northern Cheyenne indigenous 1st nation peoples is a spiritual victory of natural law and the Lakota Paradigm over Patriarchy/Colonialism powers of aggression. Crazy Horse and the people won this battle on June 25, 1876. We invite your organization to support us in this spiritual event of Sovereignty-In-Action by demonstrating the solidarity of “Peace through Unity” within this global civil society. We invite you to be a sponsor!

Maka Si Tomni’s invitation to indigenous people, social justice groups, elders, educators, researchers and the emerging global civil societies is a call to support this courageous act of the Lakota People in the USA and is a vital part of what is missing in the planned event for two reasons:

First, the tribes, 1st nation people in the U.S., are still treated as invisible members of the political social society and their lands are operated in trust by U.S. government. The oppressive history of patriarchy must be confronted and broken open for 1st nation people’s to have dignity in the different interpretation of "being and living" in the world. 1st nation languages offers a new/old viewpoint that is relevant in modernity, and authentic respect is an act of embracing differences, and is a fundament of the emerging global civil society that opens a new conversation of designing our world together.

Second, the spiritual demonstration of the Lakota People is based on factual historic experience and confronts the prejudicial orthodoxy of patriarchy in a peaceful manner. It breaks the "blindspot" and opens reflection to the cultural moods of denial, cynicism and hypocrisy of American historic leadership, social injustice, and empowers the Lakota People and youth at a grass root level. The demonstration shares solidarity with indigenous people and inspires "Peace through Unity" throughout our world. Indigenous elders in cultural diversity represent a voice of wisdom, joyful concerns, and non-violent effective action to “designing a world together” and “building the earth” currently in the web of life. WE have traditional Lakota elders present.

WE look forward to exploring how your organization may participate in Maka Si Tomni immediately and assist in launching global awareness that indigenous poverty, social injustice & terrorism of patriarchal / colonial / corporate plutocracies has ended in this emerging “turning point” embracing indigenous roots and wisdom. And the "game of aggression" is coming to an end by embracing the least among us as “legitimate-in-coexistence.”

The Lakota People situation is terminal with out a successfully remedy: the average per capita income of $4,000 per year, poorest county in the USA; lowest average age of morbidity for males at 45 years old; diabetes is 400% the normal rate; drugs, alcohol, and suicide rates 2 to 4 times the national average; incarceration of tribal members is at least two times that of other ethic groups; there is no socio-economic infrastructure and predatory financing is freely practiced; the society is treated as a hostile territory dependent upon government welfare, and the Lakota People represent the highest per capita (Warriors) U.S. military veteran population in the U.S.

The traditional elders, headman and children are making a come back in modernity by "getting back on the horse." Watch the true story of a Lakota long distance ride in "Hildago" with Viggo Mortensen, and experience the deep-rooted brotherhood with the "horse." The Lakota Nation’s identity as a sovereign nation is dependent upon a thriving language that has cultural distinctions based in "social relations" not "exclusion, appropriation, power." The "horse" is an example of the how the Lakota People relate in legitimacy-in-coexistence with all life. The Little Big Horn event is a "clarion call" to youth to learn from the “Lakota Paradigm” distinctions in language that are relevant in modernity. WE intend to build a learning bridge in the classrooms of children by sharing the "Lakota Paradigm” and exploring natural law as a science.
