About [Edit]
The Canadian Commission for UNESCO actively advances UNESCO’s mandate to contribute to peace and security by promoting collaboration among nations through education, the natural, social and human sciences, culture and communication and information. It was established in 1957 as an independent division within the Canada Council for the Arts. The Commission works as an autonomous forum of consultation and reflection to encourage and motivate governments, individuals and organizations at all levels of society to participate in and contribute to UNESCO’s work in its mandated fields.
The Canadian Commission for UNESCO also has a Youth Branch called: Youth Advisory Group to the Canadian Commission for UNESCO, whose goal is to promote the UNESCO mandate across the different provinces of Canada in a manner that is focused explicitly on Youth i.e. by youth for youth.

This is a really great place to get involved in a UN organization if you are between 18-25 and looking for leadership experience. The Mandate to be part of the Youth Advisory Group is 2 years with flexible committment time.
I`m not certain if other branches of UNESCO have a similar program, I am thinking that they probably do (or if not maybe you could approach them to develop one in your region!) but I like the program.
I gave it a 4 out of 5 stars because it is a very decentralised program and coordinating events is sometimes quite challenging, so it is not always easy to be involved.
