About [Edit]
The Community Foundation of Greater Jackson is a nonprofit, community corporation created by and for the people of Hinds, Rankin and Madison Counties. We help charitable donors establish permanent giving funds that reflect individual philanthropic interests while also making a long-term, positive impact on our community. In other words, we connect people who give with needs that matter.
There are more than 650 community foundations across the country holding $30 billion in assets. Community foundations act as "savings accounts" for the areas they serve. Earnings from endowment funds and pass-through gifts are distributed to a diverse range of community interests, which include, in the case of the Community Foundation of Greater Jackson, arts and humanities, community building, education, environment, families and children, health, and areas of particular interest to individual donors.
Our professional staff understands the issues, opportunities and resources that shape our community. We monitor all areas of community need including human services, city and neighborhood development, education, tile environment, healthcare, and the arts. We call help you learn more about local agencies and programs that make a difference in areas you care about most.
community leadership. By encouraging permanent endowments, we invest in the long term and bring people and organizations together, convening diverse voices to address local needs and opportunities. Our business is building a vibrant community.
