About  [Edit]

The San Quentin’s Day of Peace Committee’s Mission is to be a voice of reason in a moment of crisis. Through open dialogue, violence prevention workshops, and the 2nd Annual Day of Peace celebration, we are prepared to give service to our goal of taking this message back to our communities. We desire to reverse the rapid flow of  violence flow that saturates our streets. To accomplish this goal we have enlisted individuals from all walks of life to carry this pledge of (peace for just one day). Tomorrow, repeating this pledge in both your words & actions. Our September 20th, 2008 theme is “Reconciliation with Mothers Against Senseless Killings (M.A.S.K.), & victims of crimes.

With the support of San Quentin’s Administration, Women of New Birth (W.O.B.), Bay Area Peace Keepers, Prison University Project, San Francisco Healing Circle, Insight Prison Project, Radio Station’s KMEL, KPSA, Real Choices, & United Playz of San Francisco. Our mission is to promote the 2008 Day of  Peace message beyond these prison walls & out into our communities. Welcome to the San Quentin’s Day of Peace concept.
