About  [Edit]

Our History

NWASC was founded in July 2007 with the mission to empower people to make sustainable decisions by raising awareness, spreading motivation, and promoting education for sustainable development. We work to make others aware of economical, personal, environmental, and social sustainable issues and empower them with the knowledge and skills to tackle them.

We define sustainable living as meeting your needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Now, more than ever, we need enthusiastic sharers of information to convince and teach others that a sustainable lifestyle is the only way.

Our Plans

NWASC creates transition models and develops the necessary agendas by using Northwest Arkansas as a pilot project. Our most significant activities include 1) creating a Council on Sustainable Development; 2) initiating a pilot program for Student-led Sustainability Education, Leadership, and Outreach at every Fayetteville Public School; 3) adapting a regional agenda for action, using education as tool for sustainable development; and 4) establishing education and demonstration centers to facilitate the necessary partnerships and outreach programs in this transition.
