About [Edit]
The Coastal Watershed Council is a nonprofit organization committed to the preservation, protection and management of coastal watersheds through establishment of community-based watershed stewardship programs, education and community outreach. Serving as watershed advocates, the Council promotes the health of these ecosystems through stewardship, advocacy and proper management practices.
The Coastal Watershed Council was formed in response to the declining health of the watersheds of the Monterey Bay region. Our mission is simple: we would like to restore the watersheds of our region and teach our residents how to become stewards of their local creeks and streams.
CWC advocates for the preservation and protection of coastal watersheds through the establishment of community-based watershed stewardship programs and works in partnerships with schools, community organizations and local government. The Coastal Watershed Council emphasizes hands-on learning— getting community members out into the watershed to learn about water quality, riparian and wetland ecosystems and the problems impacting our watersheds.
