The National Service Conference of the American Ethical Union (www.nationalserviceaeu.org) is an NGO accredited by the United Nations Dept. of Public Information which serves the interests and vision of the Ethical Culture community, the American Ethical Union and its wider affiliations with The Humanist Institute and American Humanist Association through international work centered through the United Nations NGO community in New York City.  NSC/AEU is a member of the Coalition for OneVoice, here at WiserEarth The New York City Metro Coalition and of the Spiritual and Values Caucus's at the UN, and the UN Committee on Spirituality, Values and Global Concerns.  NSC/AEU is one of the oldest NGO's at the UN and began as the Women's Conference of the Ethical Culture movement.  NSC/AEU is associated directly with the American Ethical Union through its headquarters at 2 West 64th St., New York, New York 10023 where it also has a New York office. 

NSC/AEU is governed by an Executive Committee from its activist community and has chapters througout the United States based usually in local and regional Ethical Culture communities.  Activities of the NSC/AEU are wide-ranging in the area of environment, human rights, immigrant issues, social justice and other human concern areas.  It meets regularly and also has a yearly national gathering.  Activities include the United Religious Initiative, International Criminal Court, Environmental Initiatives associated with the AEU (in NY, NJ and internationally), UN/USA, and work as UN mentor of The Student World Assembly and InterSpiritual Dialogue in Action.  It has been active in international conferences of the UN and Parliament of the World's Religions regarding pluralism, tolerance, sustainability, water issues, child soldiers, human trafficking, international rights and justice and many other issues.  Participation in the NSC/AEU is not limited to members of just the Ethical Cultue and Humanist communities, and open to everyone with similar interests and goals.  Interested persons should contact Executive Committee member Martha Gallahue at marlalamar@earthlink.net.
