Cope is a non-profit organisation formed in 1989. Cope's vision is to be the leader in providing innovative co-operative housing products and services



COPE'S MISSION



Empowering communities in South Africa by providing collective home ownership through developing and managing sustainable buildings



Cope is a member of the Urban Sector Network (USN), comprising several organisations around the country working in the areas of habitable environments, local government and sustainable livelihoods.



Cope also seeks to strengthen the capacity of co-operatives by providing housing management services and training. As a housing service provider, Cope aims to ensure that the co-operatives provide security of tenure, affordability, acceptable standards of health and safety as well as community participation.
