Alternativa3 is a Fair Tade organisation in Spain. The Cooperative is importing and distributing, while the NGO carries out development projects.
We believe, we trust and we work in Fair Trade, promoting social participation in this area.
Alternativa3 NGO carries out social projects for underprivileged groups in order to cooperate with them in obtaining real economic self-sufficiency, improving their living condition, without creating dependence.
Alternativa 3 NGO is a nonprofit, nongovernmental organization dedicated to:
- Inform and raise awareness about Solidarity and Fair Trade.
- Support initiatives in developing countries communities, to be able to organize themselves and export their products through the Solidarity and Fair Trade network.
- Support constituted producer organizations in the development of new products and in the improval of the already marketed products.
- Assist Solidarity and Fair Trade organizations in the commercialization process and the promotion of their activity.
- To make the creation of work possible in developing countries.
- Promotion of original Handcrafted Products or semi-industrial items (in local textile, agricultural cooperatives,...).
- Keep local economy and market, avoiding where it is possible the export dependency of their work.
- Child explotation cannot be admitted. It must be actively erradicated.
- Equity criteria must be applied for wages and labour benefits without distinction for gender issues.
- The raw materials are locally found.
- Promote environmental protection and respect..
- Fair wages for the work done and according to the general level of the producer country.
- Benefits obtained are reinvested in social projects for the improvement and development of own community.
