About [Edit]
Every year we welcome people from around the world to Djanbung Gardens, Nimbin. Many come to visit our Resource Centre or do a tour of the gardens, eco-buildings and working permaculture systems at Djanbung and Jarlanbah. Others participate in our training programmes, internships and volunteer programmes. At Djanbung Gardens we are dedicated to the practice and education of Earthwise Living through practical earthcare, permaculture, ecological design and the development of human potential, creativity and skills.

ERDA Institute, a charitable trust, was established 1999 by Robyn Francis with the support of Bill Mollison, co-founder of the permaculture concept. ERDA Institute Trust administers internships, scholarships and volunteer programmes at Djanbung Gardens.
Djanbung Gardens Permaculture Education Centre is a 5 acre [2ha] property established in 1994 as a centre for education, training and research in sustainable earth-friendly living and ecological solutions. The name `Djanbung` [pronounced with silent `d`] means platypus in the local Aboriginal Wiayabul dialect and was given to the centre by senior elder and law-keeper of the Bundjalung, `Uncle` Eric Walker.
