Pioneers of Change is a global learning network of young people, in their 20's and 30's. As a Pioneer you commit to the following principles: Be yourself, do what matters, start now, engage with others, and never stop asking questions.

Pioneers include social entrepreneurs, corporate and NGO professionals, civil servants, artists, teachers, and free agents from a variety of cultural and social backgrounds.
Founded in 1999, Pioneers of Change is a constantly emerging network that today engages over 2000 participants in over 70 countries.

These are the "Communities of Practice" of Pioneers of Change where a group of Pioneers organise around a particular theme or set of practices.

Communities Arts for Social Change
This community of practice engages pioneers who are exploring ways of applying artistic processes toward social change. We include both artists who are seeking more meaningful ways of channeling our artistic talents, and community developers, professionals, activists, teachers,etc. who are interested in learning how to integrate art more in our social change work. The community uses this online space, as well as hosting a series of international learning journeys, and producing interactive learning tools. The learning journeys are ongoing at least annually; the first was in Brasil in May 2004.

Communities Social Entrepreneurship
This community of practice is exploring social entrepreneurship. It engages pioneers who are social entrepreneurs themselves or who are working to support the field of social entrepreneurship. We exchange ideas in order to make our ventures more impactful, to share challenges and opportunities, to understand our work better, to explore the meaning of social entrepreneurship, and to draw useful lessons from our experiments for the broader Pioneers of Change network.

Communities Stewards Space
SHARE, INSPIRE, BUILD TOGETHER - A steward is - a cultivator - a pioneer who s passionate about finding new types of action rooted in a new way of thinking and takes the initiative to start a local network, community of practice, or to support the one existing in his/her context. Stewardship is open to everyone and anyone can do it. You become the gardener of the space created, you get to know and work with everyone involved in the activities, expanding your own network. You also nurture the community memory, pointing newcomers to documents, providing links to related conversations, past and present, hunting down resources to add to the collective pool of knowledge.

Communities Cultivation Team
This is a space for sharing of updates, financial statements and other relevant documents for the Cultivation Team of Pioneers of Change. It is also a place to build organizational memory for future teams, so we will be explicit in explaining the material found in this folder.
