About [Edit]
Our Vision
In near future economies in the Indian subcontinent will face a challenge to produce sufficient food, to prevent a divide between the poor and the emerging middle classes and to stem the flow of migrants from the rural areas to the metropolises.
The main issues in sustainable agricultural development will be agricultural water use, soil fertility and energy in a scenario in which medium scale farmers will start purchasing land from both absentee landlords and marginal farmers. This will hasten mechanisation of agriculture, increase energy use and will lead to further exploitation of groundwater resources to be used for enhanced levels of agricultural production thus potentially depleting nutrient and water resources in the soil. Farmers will be aiming at the highest possible profit from the smallest possible investment.
Our Mission
To be the preferred partner for those, be it public or private sector or civil society, who wish to address issues of sustainable rural development through participatory processes by providing the best possible integration of the latest sociological and technological insights available.
