We are a farm/petting zoo for children with and without disabilities providing sensitivity courses in disability issues, ecology, and animal rights to Oaxacan schoolchildren and the general public.
ORGANIZATIONAL OBJECTIVES
of Divertigranja and the
Ecological Educational Consortium:
To promote the acceptance of people with disabilities and their incorporation into Mexican society.
To educate children, teachers, and other visitors the importance of and methods for protecting the environment.
To promote the humane treatment of animals.
To be a catalyst for involving business, government, and the public in achieving these objectives.
OUR CURRENT PROGRAMS:
Rights of the Disabled:
Sensitivity training for children and adults.
Ecology Awareness:
Re-use of non-recyclable items, recycling, plant variety.
Endangered Species Protection:
Teach children the importance of not contributing to the black market in exotic animals, neither for pets nor human consumption. Occasional rescue of captured, poorly treated wild animals, and their rehabilitation.
Rights of Domestic Animals:
Non-cruel farming practices.
Rehabilitation of abandoned pets.
Community Outreach:
Visits to local schools to invite them to visit. Collaborative events with the Oaxacan municipal government and
the State Department of Integrated Family Development (DIF)
OUR FUTURE PROGRAMS:
Rights of the Disabled:
Inclusive summer camp for kids of all abilities. Dignified employment for people with disabilities.
Ecology Awareness:
Biological control of pests, trash separation, composting, organic farming and gardening.
Endangered Species Protection:
Development of rehabiliation for hopeful release as well as reproduction in captivity.
Rights of Domestic Animals:
Low-cost pet neuter program.
Community Outreach:
Visits to communities in the area and non-profit groups to provide workshops in the above themes. Visits to area businesses to provide sensitivity training and suggestions on howto incorporate sentitivity toward clientes with differences. Suggestions on how to make their business locations accessible. Community fundraising and awareness campaigns.

When you talk about passion and dedication to a cause, this organization is truly the best example. Even when there is no funding it presses on to make things work, for the sake of education, animal welfare, the environment, and disability rights.
