About [Edit]
AVC aims to help Armenians in the diaspora and Armenia reap the benefits of working together for the common goal of building a strong country and nation. Since 2001, AVC has assisted scores of volunteers in finding fulfilling placements in schools, non-profit organizations, churches, and businesses. AVC volunteers gain new insight into their own identity, growing and developing personally and professionally, while sharing in the exciting process of nation-building.
While AVC provides a range of free services to volunteers, such as placement advice, assistance with home stays, advice on life in Armenia, language instruction and cultural, immersion, AVC volunteers are responsible for financing their own travel and lodging in Armenia.
The Armenian Volunteer Corps is a registered non-profit foundation in Armenia, with its office in central Yerevan. The foundation is governed by a Board of Trustees, which sets the policies for AVC. AVC's day-to-day business is managed by the Executive Director.
