About  [Edit]

The earth is in crisis; the root of the crisis is spiritual.

The time has come for people of faith to join together in honoring the gift of creation

by fostering a world based on justice and sustainability.

The earth is in crisis, under the assault of systems, structures, policies and life style decisions in which we participate everyday. The root of the crisis is spiritual—our relationship to and responsibility for the planet has become fractured and dysfunctional.

The time has come, for communities of faith to remember the promise of abundance and prosperity of creation as a gift, to re-acknowledge our responsibility as stewards of the earth, and to join together to fundamentally change the way we live and reground the systems, policies and structures of our global society on a stance of gratitude and compassion that leads to a truly just and sustainable world.

The Interfaith Creation Festival will convene interfaith, multicultural gatherings to celebrate the richness of our sacred traditions of Creation, affirm our interconnection in the web of life, equip us for action within our communities and the wider world for a socially responsible and sustainable future.

The four-day launching event and subsequent activities will create a sacred space for worship, workshops, discussions, celebrations, sharing learnings and resources, and set the stage for an expanding community of individuals, faith communities, civic organizations, businesses, and government agencies to reweave the fabric of our society based our common care for the wellbeing of the planet for generations to come.

The Festival provides a year of interfaith dialog and action toward establishing a growing Care for Creation Movement that can lead the way in demonstrating responsible life styles, businesses, organizations, and policies. A culminating event in 2008 will bring together what we have learned from our successes and challenges and celebrate our interconnectedness.
