About  [Edit]

Solar Richmond is a local non-profit committed to promoting solar electric power in the city of Richmond in order to protect the environment and develop local job opportunities in a city that has typically struggled in both these areas.

Our mission is to: promote and inspire the use of solar power and energy efficiency in order to bring the economic benefits of the emerging green economy to the Richmond commmunity, a community which historically has been left out of California's economic booms. We pride ourslves in serving the community through:

- job-training

- opening doors to employment

- solar installations for low-income Richmond homeowners at minimal cost

Thanks for your comment on our Solar Richmond page, I will look into volunteer opportunities, and yes, we do installations all over the Bay. After reading your profile, I think you would enjoy reading this article about a solar event that happened in Richmond yesterday!

Hey Zoey,

Solar Richmond seems like a really interesting project.  I think it would be useful to mention any volunteer opportunites you all provide.  Do you limit yourself to the Richmond community or have you worked in Oakland, Berkeley etc?  Welcome to Wiserearth.
