About  [Edit]

Literacy 'n' Poverty Project, also known to its supporters as LnP, is a New York based startup nonprofit organization that works to alleviate poverty and improve adult education worldwide through advocacy, research and service. We envision a society where all adults have access to a quality education, the resources, skills and experiences they (and possibly you) need to succeed in life, and the assurance that organizations such as ours will be there to support them along the way.

This is the beginning stage of what will become an international social enterprise furthering the personal and professional advancement of adults, helping them obtain a better education, become financially stable and to rise up out of poverty.

Mission

To alleviate poverty and improve adult education worldwide. We achieve our mission by:

In economic times like we face today, nonprofits have to take an even more resourceful and effective approach at serving their constituents. The saying goes "no man is an island", and that's true. That's why LnP recognizes collaboration among the governmental, nonprofit and private sectors as a fundamental aspect of its structure.

We intend to build on the proven success of partnerships to offer many of our services and promote the work of others through the formation and expansion of an LnP Partner Network. These partners represent a group of businesses, nonprofits and other community based organizations as well as independent professionals who are passionate about our work, the causes we support and the adults we help to obtain a better education and rise up out of poverty.
