About [Edit]
The Global Citizen Center is a non-profit organization whose mission is to galvanize the emerging green economic movement. The Green Economy is locally rooted, environmentally nurturing, socially equitable, and finanically robust. It holds long-term sustainability as its central, governing principle. It places life values above money values.
The mission of the Global Citizen Center is to facilitate this economic evolution through education and advocacy. To this end, it will develop and operate a mission-driven, multi-tenant, mixed-use facility that will demonstrate the success of Green concepts and programs. A central constituency of this project is the network of sustainable enterprises developed over the last four years by Global Exchange and Coop America, co-producers of the GreenFestival. The Global Citizen Center will be the permanent expression of these highly popular events that attract over 25,000 people in the course of a single weekend. The Center will house offices for aligned non-profit and for-profit organizations, a retail mall for Green goods and services, an exhibition venue for conferences and educational installations, and an event space for related public meetings, entertainment, and other traffic-generating activities.
