About [Edit]
Permaculture Across Borders (PAB) is a globally-focused permaculture non-profit whose aim is to provide and pass on technical expertise to further sustainable and integrated practices that create permanent abundance.
Permaculture Across Borders commits to tapping into local knowledge and experience; to connecting people to resources; to training teachers and leaders of regenerative development in their communities; to giving individuals and communities a place to share their knowledge; and to listen to and learn from that shared knowledge.

Goals
- To build permaculture demonstration and teaching sites in partnership with local communities
- To sponsor poor students' participation in PDC courses
- To provide internship and teaching opportunities for PDC graduates
- To connect financial and technical resources to communities
- To connect sister cities and regions so that experiences can be shared and to learn from those shared experiences
History
Permaculture Across Borders evolved from teacher-student discussions at Permaculture Design Certificate courses around the world. A foundation was envisioned that would build upon local knowledge by supporting community-based demonstration and education sites, and that would connect communities, cities and regions to each other to create a shared knowledge database .
Join our Community
Permaculture Across Borders's Board and Advisory Board members live and work across the world, from Australia to Tajikistan; from Armenia to Jordan and in every region of the United States. Our connections to you and your community are our greatest resource. Your knowledge of your community and region are invaluable when shared with other communities.
We invite you to participate in our forum, to offer or apply for internships and training, and to let us know of projects that could become valuable learning tools.
Projects
PAB is launching its first major project in collaboration with Children of Uganda in the Rakai district of southern Uganda. Working with and learning from the local community, Children of Uganda and Permaculture Across Borders are partnering to bring greater food sustainability to a Boarding School and Home for orphaned and vulnerable children in South-Western Uganda. PAB will facilitate a permaculture-based approach to achieve greater food, water, & energy self-sufficiency and establish the Home as a community resource for learning, teaching, and spreading sustainable agriculture practices.
PAB continues to support Mahboba's Promise and their welfare & sustainable development projects for the women and children of Afghanistan.
We appreciate your support and collaboration. For further information on these and other opportunities please email us at:

I have come to learn about Permaculture Across Borders (PAB) through Rosemary Morrow who visited and gave workshops and tutorials in Uganda at Sabina Home and School. Rosemary gave a presentation at our Blue Mountains Permaculture Network Spring Seasonal Gathering and it touched many of us so that as a network and individually we are assisting where possible:
- Sabina Home and School required laptops because paper is expensive and difficult to purchase so 4 were sourced and will be hand delivered in the New Year.
- Clothing, mosquito netting etc will be purchased from fundraising by members of the network - monies raised were made out and sent to Janice Smart.
- Some copies of Caroline Nuttal's latest Permaculture text book for organic gardening aimed at educators of children were also purchased for the school.
I have made a personal commitment to continue fundraising for Sabina Home and School by a variety of methods e.g. by selling plants from my garden eg iris and selling the wonderful Korean Ho Min hand gardening tool... see Q & A in www.wiserearth.org/group/bmp.
