The conservation work is carried out by the Friends, by agreement with the Woodland Trust Manager, with a general five year programme, which is reviewed in early autumn each year to keep up to date with the changing situations. We are always looking to find more volunteers, and will train them the various skills. We lead walks covering all aspects of natural history, geology, and history of the wood. We also carry out Butterfly transect walks, survey 90 bats boxes, 24 Tawny Owl Boxes, and various orchid populations. We are self financing, selling bean sticks, pea sticks and cordwood.
