People against Rio Tinto and Subsidiaries (Partizans) is the longest standing UK-based shareholder campaign. Founded in 1978 at the request of Aboriginal Groups for solidarity action against the mining multinational Rio Tinto Zinc or RTZ (now Rio Tinto). Partizans has continued to exist as a collective on a purely voluntary basis conducting research and shareholder-based action in support of communities world-wide.
