NAWOU was established in 1992 by over 20 women`s groups and 35 district networks of community-based organizations [CBOs].
* Needs of CBOs - Addressing both strategic and practical needs of CBOs.
* Influence and Advocacy - Building strong relationship with NAWOU partners in development both at district, national, regional and international levels.
* Evaluation - Putting in place an effective analysis of programs, documentation, communication, monitoring, and evaluation system.
* Capacity building - Building capacity of secretariat, NEC, NGOs and CBOs to improve the status of members.
Moving Forward: * Local resource mobilization * Identifying partners and subcontracting projects * Improving relationships and communication
NAWOU`s Mission:
To promote a coordinated network of member organizations for efficient use of resources in order to improve the status and living conditions of women in Uganda.NAWOU`s Vision:
For the next four years is to see a strong unified women`s body equipped with knowledge and skills aimed at making women self reliant.Specific Goals:
