It is a non profit organization, largely financed by public institutions and through certain services provided to some organizations (For instance: studies, or training programs for universities, association or local authorities).
Our activities are : training, support services and networking.
- TRAINING activities :
* Master’s degree (level 1) in development project coordination, either in developed or developing countries :
o 10 months of intensive professional training in Bordeaux (France),
o 1 year of field work followed by a thesis.
Admission requirements :
* A 2-year post secondary school diploma preferably with professional experience
* A strong commitment to human development
* Continuing education
Interested persons (professional, voluntary worker, ...) can attend one or more of the modules offered in the master’s program.
* Professional experience equivalence
Under certain conditions, the IFAID degree can be granted to professionals with long term experience in the development field.
- Support services for the outside community :
* We design and set up training modules to suit specific needs of organizations (associations, educational institutions, local authorities, ...)
* We assist other organizations and their projects with advice and an evaluation of their needs.
- A Synergy between our training program and the support services :
An example :
* During their program, the trainees are required to carry out a study on behalf of a local authority.
* IFAID calls for tenders and supervises the trainees and the study.
