About [Edit]
Permaculture Drylands Institute [PDI] is a non-profit educational organization founded in 1986 to promote permaculture as a way of living and working in arid regions throughout the world. Established activities of the Institute and its graduates include: education, publications, demonstration projects, site-assessment, design consultation, and technical assistance.
Over 3500 people have received training in permaculture principles and techniques from PDI and its graduates. The Institute has graduated more than 1000 people from its 8-day Basic Permaculture Design course, and its 60-hour Advanced Design course. Many more have been reached through various workshops. PDI has also offered programs through schools, at elementary through college levels.
