About [Edit]
Who We Are
We are the current and former TANF recipients and people in poverty who struggle everyday to create change in our communities.
What We Do
DAWG does whatever is needed to help people in poverty have a voice. Some of the things we do include:
*Educate people on their rights.
*Help people find their voice and the power to speak and tell their story.
*Organize people to become leaders in their communities.
*Building an organization of low-income people to provide a unified voice to create change in West Virginia.
*Work with coalitions and groups in and out of West Virginia to create change and impact policy that affect our lives.
*Hold trainings and infromation session, monitor state and national legislation, and meet with community groups and people in power.
*Operate an e-mail group and distribute a newsletter that contains pertinent poverty information.
*Provide information to the general public about poverty issues.
*Provide information and referral to people who are in need of assistance.
