About [Edit]
The 113 Calhoun Street Foundation is a private non-profit organization whose mission is to create communities more resistant to losses from natural hazards - flood, wind, and earthquake - and to promote ways of living that help people conserve natural resources.
113 Calhoun Streets mission is being achieved through the development of low-cost tools and techniques, educational activities, and technical assistance programs in three priority areas:
- Natural Hazards Mitigation strategies to minimize loss of life and property from the effects of flood, wind, and earthquake events;
- Sustainable Building Practices involving energy and water conservation, sustainable landscaping, recycled and sustainable building materials, and construction waste and recycling; and
- Sustainable Living, including household hazardous waste management, home pest control, indoor air and water quality, and recycling.
