We have been developing it since October 1998 to serve as a teaching centre for many aspects of sustainable living. Our aim is to create a simple place for healing and sustainable living with a strong root in the Earth. It is a response to the ecological crisis facing us, a place to show that we can live lightly on the Earth, in harmony with her.



We aim to show that this is more than just possible. Indeed a rich and full life results from being a conscious, positive contributor to our ecosystem.



We grow a wide variety of organic fruit, herbs and vegetables and are developing forest garden areas.



By following permaculture principles, we garden with nature rather than against her. This is pure Taoism in action, and so the garden serves as a living foundation for all the teaching and healing work we do here.



We have a warm group space, kitchen and eating area. All our electricity is from the sun and wind. We recycle virtually all waste, including human via a very efficient compost loo.
