About [Edit]
We are prepared to fight to protect valuable countryside in a county renowned for its overall beauty & special nature and enjoyed by so many from all over the UK and elsewhere, especially as it has become clear that the environmental gains on this technology have been shown to be practically zero.
It should be stressed that DART is PRO renewable energy sources in principle. But DART is against the sheer scale of these 2 adjacent Wind Power Station proposals and the resulting wanton destruction of a much cherished landscape and the consequential disruption to the wellbeing & amenity value of the many affected communities - all at no benifit to the wider environment.
The aim of dorset against rural turbines (DART) is (and will continue to be) to prevent Wind Power Stations* industrialising the Winterborne Valley and in other inappropriate parts of Dorset & surrounding areas, helping also to avoid a precedent for similar developments in other locations in rural Britain.
The Strategy of DART is wide, timely dissemination of information to the public to gain large numerical support, selected lobbying of landowners and thorough campaigning using skilled consultancy support and ensuring the timely briefing of the planning staffs, councillors and the media.
DART supports renewable energy sources, but we believe: that large turbines, especially if there are a group of them, cannot properly be accommodated in populated rural areas, still less if the area is of great landscape value.
DART strongly object to the way the developers use soft, green language to describe what they are doing when it is really about hard cash. As a society we get very little out of this development.
