The capital Hill Housing is a community - based ,non-profit housing development and management corporation.
Mission:
Capitol Hill Housing meets the need for affordable housing and preserves neighborhood character in Seattle.
Vision:
Capitol Hill Housing's vision is of a community that includes secure, comfortable and affordable housing opportunities for individuals and families across a broad range of incomes to support social and economic diversity.
To move toward this vision over the next five years, Capitol Hill Housing will continue as:
- one of the most effective and consistent developers and managers of affordable housing in Capitol Hill and other neighborhoods,
- an innovative force, leveraging its expertise to expand when ever possible the available supply of housing to diverse households of limited means or who are not otherwise served by the private market,
- an organization committed to the principles of strong stewardship and the effective use of public and private resources, and
- a strong advocate for policies and resources that support affordable housing opportunities.
Since 1976, Capitol Hill Housing has worked in partnership with neighborhood groups, government and businesses to preserve housing opportunities for low and moderate income households as well as improve existing housing that is part of the community's character and scale. In addition, Capitol Hill Housing has developed new properties, focusing on sustainability, function and design.
Statement of Values:
Capitol Hill Housing believes it is an appropriate obligation of our society to provide all individuals with access to quality, affordable, safe housing.
Capitol Hill Housing believes in the right of all individuals to be treated with respect and dignity. We honor the diversity and life experiences of each individual.
