Introduction: The Permanent Assembly for Human Rights (APRODEH), created in 1975, addresses the systemic violations of human rights in Argentina. APRODEH works to promote truth and justice, and struggles against impunity. It lobbies for internal human rights legislation and educates the public on past human rights abuses. It also runs programmes on juvenile justice, the prison system, the lack of independence in the judiciary, economic, social and cultural rights, freedom of press, and the rights to information and self determination.
