We came together when we heard the Sorgun Forest was to be destroyed in order to make way for a golf course. Together we share the same anger and sadness.

We were a handfull of Turkish, German and British nature lovers. And when we shared our feelings we came to realise we weren?t just a handfull. Our self-confidence and determination grew. We call ourselves the Side Nature Volunteers. Together we promised to stand up against the destruction not only of our forest but of any tree, bird, insect or fish and we will support any positive moves with the same aim.

At the moment we are fighting against those who would destroy our forest. Then we want to tackle other environmental problems. Maybe later we shall come together with others who share our feelings into larger organisations. This coming together has shown us how important it is to raise our voices loud and clear. Otherwise the actions of people who care only about money and think nothing of nature will lead to the wholesale destruction of the environment and that will cost us dear.

Anyone who loves nature is our friend. People can work with us as they choose. Each new friend will give is more strength and will help us to move towards a more beautiful world.

Kuruluşumuz,Sorgun Ormanının yok edilip yerine golf sahası yapılacağı haberi ile başladı.Aynı üzüntüyü, aynı öfkeyi hep birlikte yaşadık. Türk'ü ,Alman'ı ,İngiliz'i bir avuç doğa tutkunu.Ve duygularımızı paylaştıkça bir avuç olmadığımızı anladık.Güvenimiz ve kararlılığımız arttı.Önce kendimizi tanımladık;?Side Doğa Gönüllüleri?Hep birlikte,değil ormanımıza:Tek bir ağaca,kuşa,böceğe,balığa zarar verecek eylemlerin karşısında durma,doğa ve insan adına yapılacak her olumlu eylemi destekleme sözü verdik.Şimdi mücadelemiz ormanımızı yok etmek isteyenler ile.Daha sonra çevremiz ile ilgili sorunlar ile..Belki sonra bizlerle aynı duyguları paylaşan dostlarla birlikte daha büyük organizasyonlar..Bu birliktelik tek bir şeyden emin olmamızı sağladı:Eğer güçlü bir şekilde sesimizi duyuramazsak,doğal hayat,bir avuç, gözleri kar hırsı ile parlayan,duygu yoksunu fırsatçılar tarafından sessizce yok edilecek ve bunun ağır bedelini yine bize ödetecekler. Yüreğinde doğa sevgisi taşıyan herkes bizim yandaşımızdır.Gücü arzusu oranında bizimle çalışabilir.Her yeni dost bize güç verecek ve daha güzel,anlamlı bir dünyaya daha da yaklaştıracaktır.
