As the network of San Francisco Bay Area nonprofits doing international development work, BAIDO promotes understanding of the challenges facing people globally - and the solutions we are creating.
Who we are
BAIDO (Bay Area International Development Organizations) is a network of San Francisco Bay Area nonprofits doing international development work. We promote understanding of the challenges facing people globally - and the solutions we are finding.
BAIDO builds on the collective expertise within our membership to address the inter-connectedness of global issues. Like a colorful mosaic, our individual pieces of work fit together to become a more effective whole. BAIDO members represent a wealth of in-depth knowledge and personal experience concerning the developing world - a valuable resource for Northern California.
The BAIDO network has roots dating back nearly 10 years. The network began as an informal grouping that met to discuss common concerns. In late 1999, BAIDO member organizations began to discuss working together more closely.
BAIDO's member organizations involve thousands of people in Northern California and touch the lives of millions of others in developing countries.BAIDO is a project of the Earth Island Institute (EII)
