About  [Edit]

To promote understanding of the relations between people and the biosphere and to conserve, protect and celebrate terrestrial, aquatic and marine ecosystems of northern California and southern Oregon.

At the Northcoast Environmental Center, we educate, activate, and when necessary litigate on behalf of the Klamath-Siskiyou bioregion.

The Northcoast Environmental Center is a non-profit, grassroots coalition founded in 1971 to protect the spectacular and diverse natural wonders of the Klamath-Siskiyou bioregion of northwest California and southwest Oregon.

From the outset, NEC's mission has been to conserve the area's biological assets in the public's interest and to stimulate public awareness in securing the future of these natural treasures, which are a critical element in sustaining physically, economically and culturally healthy communities.
