About  [Edit]

Blue Earth Alliance [BEA] is a non-profit 501[c]3 corporation dedicated to supporting photographic projects that educate the public about threatened cultures, endangered environments, and other social concerns.

We founded the Blue Earth Alliance in 1996 with the hope that our experiences in photographing and publishing personal projects could help other photographers.

Years later, and many successful projects later, we know there are many more stories that need to be told. And with the new forms of publishing available in the era of instant communication, the opportunities for photographers in reaching a global audience have never been greater.

Blue Earth Alliance is dedicated to helping photographers who pursue documentary projects about endangered environments, threatened cultures and other social concerns. Our board members all volunteer their time to mentor those photographers whose projects we sponsor. We want to make a difference.

As a not-for-profit corporation, we depend on membership dues and donations to support these projects. Please take a few minutes to find out who we are and what stories our photographers are telling.

Membership has its privileges here. When you join you will get our 50 page book describing the process of organizing, shooting, funding and publishing a special project, project updates, newsletters, book and workshop discounts, monthly email updates on the projects and access to our members only section.

Photographers are the eyes and the conscience of society. Help us support the photographers who tell the stories that need to be told.
