Our Mission
Alliance for a Post-Petroleum Local Economy is working to reduce dependency on fossil fuels, and to promote a more self-reliant local economy in Nevada County, California.
Alliance for a Post-Petroleum Local Economy is a grassroots group concerned about the repercussions of declining oil and natural gas in Nevada county. APPLE is a local forum where citizens are gathering to develop practical solutions to the challenges ahead. Our vision is a more self-reliant, sustainable local economy which is localized — the opposite of globalized: we produce locally what we consume locally

Nevada City passes Energy Scarcity Resolution
On Wednesday October 22, 2008, the Nevada City council approved the revised Energy Scarcity resolution developed by APPLE. The resolution is modeled after others listed at Post Carbon Cities. It calls for the formation of an Energy Solutions Task Force to look at the City's specific vulnerabilities to less available energy, and propose specific solutions.
This is an historic moment for Nevada City and for Western Nevada County. Look for more details on the Energy Solutions Task Force soon!
