About [Edit]
The P3 Project Crossroads is recycling hand-held computers, known as Personal Digital Assistants (PDA's), to combat poverty in a new way.
* Education
Imagine how life could change for kids who can't get an education, if their text books could be uploaded onto PDA's! They could get a whole year's syllabus on the P3 and, at the end of one year, upload next year's at any update kiosk.
* Literacy
Imagine how life could change for people who can't read - adults or kids - if they could learn to do so on the P3! In some countries, illiteracy is as high as 80% but, if taught, many could read for the first time in their lives.
* Health care and nutrition
Imagine how life could change for people who struggle daily against poor health and nutrition if P3 could give the information that people in the developed world take for granted! They could learn how to improve their lives with the resources that are already available, and use the P3 to learn about and obtain missing resources.
* Small Business
Imagine how life could change for people who cannot find an income if P3 could give them contact with organisations who could help. They could receive start-up funding or goods and, at the same time, training or advice from people who could help get them going.
* Agriculture
Imagine how life could change if family farms, which previously grew less than enough for the family to live on, could benefit from knowledge about crop rotation, pest control and irrigation, etc. Families could multiply their harvest, obtain advice and even seeds from people who can help them.
* Email
Imagine how life could change if people without electricity or telephones were able to communicate with each other, with relief organisations, and with their own regional and national governments. P3's network of update kiosks allows people to send and receive email, securely, and to obtain fresh information every time they visit their local market or village centre.

Background
Far from the information economy, millions of families live in crushing poverty, without access to basic health care, economic opportunities, education and agricultural information. They live without email or other access to those with the resources and commitment to help.P3 Project
The P3 Project will recycle older PDA's for the world's largest, poorest people groups, to be loaded with information in their own language, with several goals in mind.* Education
