PEACE X PEACE
empowers women to connect across cultural divides, using technology to weave a global web of communication, education and action for sustainable peace. PEACE X PEACE connects women into a worldwide movement to build the foundations for peace, and helps bring women’s and men’s voices into balance to strengthen the possibility for substantive peace, where each person is valued and each person’s life enriched.
PEACE X PEACE uses technology to connect women across cultural divides and misunderstandings, fostering collaborative actions for peace and security. PXP empowers women to know their rights, to support one another, and to work collectively to shift both the perception and reality of women’s role in building peace.
PEACE X PEACE is dedicated to creating a world where women are no longer those most tragically affected by conflict and strife, but are the core power building substantive, sustainable peace for all.
STRATEGIC STATEMENT
To achieve the mission of building peace by empowering women, PEACE X PEACE has two mutually-supportive programs:
The Global Network is the heart of PEACE X PEACE. The Network is an Internet-based hub connecting and supporting women’s circles in the United States in one-on-one relationships with women’s circles outside the United States for dialogue, support, collaboration, mentorship, and education across cultural divides and misconceptions.
Through communication we learn about each other, embrace our differences and realize our commonalities. Strangers become family, enemies become friends, love replaces hate, and compassion replaces fear and vengeance. Communication from good intent changes the world, person by person, connection by connection, peace by peace.
The Educational Outreach Program combines the impact of film with a wealth of educational resources. It strengthens and recognizes the critical efforts of women building peace, and provides tools to support the continuance of their work. Educational Outreach includes:
PBS-primetime documentary PEACE BY PEACE: Women on the Frontlines, profiling women peace builders around the world
A short educational video, The Power of Circles, documenting the power of women’s circles and inspiring potential Global Network members
A resource-rich website [www.peacexpeace.org] offering a weekly service of women’s peace news, a monthly e-Newsletter with expert Peace Papers, a peace library, and a Circle Resources section on forming and nurturing circles and circular organizations
The Program reaches a global citizenry that works for peace individually, within organizations and as Global Network members, and it supports teaching new perspectives within educational institutions.

You can view three video clips that we did of three women for peace, Marianne Williamson, Medea Benjamin and Judith LeBlanc that were filmed during the World Peace Forum in June 2006 in Vancouver, British Columbia.
