About  [Edit]

Littleglobe Inc.

-we create collaborative art with communities-

-illuminate connections and foster relations-

-work to bridge the boundaries that divide us-

Littleglobe is a New Mexico based artist ensemble consisting of creative professionals who are devoted to collaborative arts projects that foster social and environmental justice and healing. We move along a continuum of collaboration from facilitators and collaborators on large-scale community partnerships to individual artist creations.
Littleglobe artists are committed to work that creatively explores difficult questions and illuminates perspectives, experiences, and stories that are underrepresented. Integrating creative mediums and the willingness to experiment is essential to our work. Through the creative process participants define issues of importance which become the source material for a new work of social and artistic import such as a performance, film, installation, or festival.  Meaningful dialogue, community building, increased capacity and well-being are often the result of the projects.
Our community collaborations, Common Ground Projects, typically last 4 months to 2 years in duration and bring together elders, youth, community organizers, affiliate artists and community members.  Past project include MOMENT, a commission for The European Union Festival of Culture with older homeless adults and youth, and MEMORYLINES:  VOCES DE NUESTRAS JORNADAS, a new intergenerational opera exploring identity and immigration with diverse community members in Santa Fe, ages 8 to 89, commissioned by The Santa Fe Opera.
We are currently working on a long-term intergenerational project with participants from three rural New Mexico communities including the village of Cuba and Torreon and Ojo Encino, two Dine (Navajo) communities.
