Established more than two decades ago, the Arid Lands Environment Centre [ALEC] is a community based `not for profit` incorporated association based in Alice Springs.
The Centre investigates, networks, informs, advises, advocates and acts on environmental and sustainable development issues applicable to the arid zone.
Key issues and current project areas include rangelands management, urban water and energy conservation, weed management, threatened species conservation, and waste minimisation.
We are a member-based organisations with an active Committee of Management and a Constitution. ALEC is registered on the REO list and has a fund [the ALEC Fund] which is approved as a Deductible Gift Recipient for income tax purposes.
