About  [Edit]

Mission Statement :

Alameda Development Corporation (ADC) is committed to increasing housing options for individuals and families with modest means in Alameda and surrounding communities.

Programs :

Brokering:

ADC works with developers of large-scale projects on the affordable components of their projects. ADC resells the affordable housing units to purchasers with very low, low and moderate incomes -- identifying and qualifying purchasers for this housing; training them in homeownership and financial management skills; and establishing maintenance standards. ADC, given its goodwill and relationships in the community, is able to “broker” relationships, partnerships and initiatives related to housing.

Developing :

ADC develops small-scale residential projects for sale to purchasers with very low, low and moderate incomes and provides support services to those purchasers. All sales of affordable units are subject to an affordability covenant. ADC's goal is to sell these units to purchasers with incomes at all levels within the applicable affordability ranges.

Education and Advocacy :

ADC educates Alamedans regarding the need for affordable housing and the options to meet those needs.
