Begun in Spring 2003, Common Ground Athens is a non-profit resource center developed to support and empower Athens’ many progressive groups and individuals in their quest for progressive social change. Our members and affiliate organizations are the base of an amazing movement of positive action on issues related to social justice, civil liberties, democracy, peace, gender equity, environmental integrity, sustainability, community empowerment and more. As a non-politicized entity, Common Ground serves as a place for peaceful debate, positive interaction, and communication in an effort to bring the community together to find common ground that unites us all.
