About  [Edit]

ScilogoSustainable Communities Initiatives provides work experience opportunities to learn building skills required in Earthship building. These include one day volunteer days and working weekends. Our core team of volunteers were part of the building programme of Earthship Fife and worked with Michael Reynolds on the first UK Earthship. Learning is informal and a fun experience for all. For more information on hands on learning opportunities join SCI today and receive regular updates.
As we develop our own skill base and future projects we hope to set up an accredited training programme. More information will be pasted here as the programme develops.

"It is the aim of Sustainable Communities Initiatives to demonstrate the Earthship's performance in the Scottish climate, as well as the costs involved and the best route through planning and building control."

Both the functionality and the aesthetics of the Earthship have been adapted for Scotland in the Earthship Fife project.
