AVSO is an international non-governmental organisation, forming a European platform of national and international non-profit organisations active in the field of longer term Voluntary Service.



Lobbying



The principal goal of AVSO is to promote and facilitate long term voluntary service. To achieve this goal AVSO lobbies at a European level against barriers to long term volunteering and the mobility of volunteers.



Partnership building



AVSO represents the voluntary service sector as a whole. As such we aim to increase the number of volunteer opportunities and improve the quality of voluntary service placements. AVSO organises partnership building seminars (PBS) and training workshops in order to facilitate the sharing of experience and the inclusion of new partner organisations in voluntary service.
