About  [Edit]

Environmentalism Begins at Home

Home improvement can take more than a hammer and nails.  The American Lung Association of Washington offers home environmental assessments to learn how to make homes healthier.  The home assessments focus on recognizing indoor air pollution and reducing exposure to toxic chemicals in the home.  These evaluations of the home environment are great for people with asthma, allergies, children, the elderly, or pregnant women because of the sensitivity of their lungs, but can be helpful for anyone. We do not provide testing or cleaning services but we do provide recommendations for healthier living.  Free indoor air quality assessments are available in Seattle all year round.

Asthma Outreach Program

Does your child have asthma or asthma-like symptoms? The American Lung Association of Washington’s Asthma Outreach Program offers free asthma management for children in Seattle. An Asthma Outreach Worker will provide two free home visits to help control asthma, reduce asthma triggers, use asthma medicine correctly, create an asthma action plan, and also provide free supplies to help your child’s asthma. Free home visits with a Asthma Outreach Worker are available in Seattle (Only) all year round. We are able to provide phone support and resource assistance to some degree outside the Seattle area.
